PPL prepared for Hurricane Joaquin

Montoursville, Lycoming County – PPL Electric is ready to battle Hurricane Joaquin.
As of Thursday the hurricane might be thousands of miles away and PPL Electric is preparing. “The storm could hit our area and our twenty-nine county system,” said Teri MacBride, Regional Affairs Director Susquehanna Valley.
Spokesperson MacBride says crews are making sure trucks are filled with gasoline, supplies are stocked for power restoration and preparing for any trees down on power lines. “This is what we do as we prepare for storms and the investments we’ve been making.”
Lisa Ranck is worried the storm could dump a large amount of rain all at once.
“My son said it’s very low so I know we need the rain. But the trees down, that’s what I worry about,” said Ranck.
Judy Stauffer will be traveling this weekend to the east. “I guess we’re ready as we’re every going to be. It’s going to come whether if we’re ready or not.”
PPL Electric in Montoursville area are prepared to assist with storm damage in other areas if they are needed.
