Postal Workers honored for saving a friend’s life

POCONO SUMMIT, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Seven U.S. Postal Workers were recognized Wednesday for saving their co-workers life.
The employees  from the postmaster to drivers  were recognized by “Central PA District Leadership” for helping Donna Bethel when she had a heart attack on the job.

It happened at the Pocono Summit post office last September.

Bethel, a retail associate, fell as she helped a customer  and stopped breathing.

Her husband, who is also her co-worker, along with six other employees quickly called for help and assisted medical personnel.

Donna tells us she’s back to work full-time and thankful to her postal family who saved her life.
The employees also received the “United States Postal Service Postmaster General Hero Award”.
