Woman injured in Sunday morning shooting on McLean Street

UPDATE: We now know one woman was injured during an shooting early Sunday morning in Wilkes-Barre. Police say during their investigation they learned that the victim’s boyfriend was in the area to fight another man. That man, showed up with three others and during an altercation, two people started shooting, striking the woman. She was taken to the hospital and her condition is not known. Anyone with information is asked to call Wilkes-Barre Police.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE / WYOU-TV) — Police are investigating a reported shooting on the 200 block of McLean Street.

An Eyewitness News crew on the scene spoke with witnesses who said they heard shots around midnight and took cover. Our crew saw multiple homes with bullet holes on McLean Street when they arrived.

Wilkes-Barre Police and Pennsylvania State Police were both on the scene as of 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Neighbors we talked to said it was unclear if anyone was injured in the shooting.
