Polar Plunge for a cause in Monroe County

News

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – It’s not the time of year that most people want to go for a swim outside, but some will brave the elements to raise money for a Monroe County animal shelter.

The dogs and cats at Camp Papillon in Monroe County are looking for homes. The people at the camp are planning to help raise money.

If going for a swim in the winter is not your thing, there are plenty of other reasons to turn out and help the animals at the shelter.

“It’s a winter festival, we’re going to have face painting, we’re going to have s’more stations for the kids, we’re going to have vendors, we’re going to have food,” Felicia Katz, Vice President at Camp Papillon, said.

Without fundraisers like this, Camp Papillon would not be able to stay open.

The winter festivities are scheduled for Saturday, March 2 starting at 11am on Brainerd Lane in Hamilton Township near Stroudsburg.
