Pocono Medical Center Opens New Primary Care Office


Stroudsburg, Monroe County – Doctor Oliana Ros cut the ribbon for Pocono Medical Center’s new primary care office on West Main Street in Stroudsburg. She smiled, “It’s very exciting.”

Doctor Ros is the health system’s newest physician. She will serve as a primary care doctor at the new family practice. She said, “I love seeing the whole family, you know, have babies come in with their mothers and then grandma comes in.”

For the past two years, Pocono Health System has focused on expanding. They have opened several new large medical centers. They say small practices are important to. Lamont Louis is Pocono Medical Center’s Physician Network Vice President. He said, “It allows us the ability to continue to provide care closest to home for the patients of our community.”

Pocono now has more than 20 primary care office. Some people at the latest opening said the aging population in the Poconos will appreciate having more doctors. Doctors said family care offices allow them to get to know patients better. Ros noted, “It’s a great way to practice primary care where you still get to be part of a community and form those relationships and bonds that you might not be able to form in a larger city.”
