(WBRE/WYOU)- Healthy heart. Healthy brain. Healthy life.
That was the message of a “lunch and learn” event held today at Pinebrook Personal Home Care in Orwigsburg.
Compassus Hospice spoke at the facility about why it is important to take care of your heart and brain.
They gave tips about small things you can do to help avoid chronic diseases, Alzheimer’s and heart disease in the long run.
Just 30 minutes of physical activity a day, eating healthier and drinking more water is recommended.
Officials with Pinebrook hope this event will enhance the care of their residents with chronic diseases.
“With physical therapy, and our nursing staff, we can give them. A better quality of life in their later days,” Kristie Ondisco, marketing and admissions director, pine brook personal care said.
“We strive to have these events to build awareness and to make sure that if we can, try and avoid the things that would bring on those diseases,” Regina Rinaldo-Wozniski, of Compassus Hospice said.
Compassus hospice also suggests taking on mental activities like crossword puzzles to help brain stimulation.
