Starting on Feb 15 work will take place from 6 p.m.to 6 a.m. for two weeks and the road will be down to a single lane.  The remainder of the project will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The entire project should last about three months. The damage to the roadway was a result of the temporary excavation and support system shifting after installation.  For safety reasons SR 87 will be closed to traffic in that area until the slope is rebuilt.

SR 1001– The recently completed Whippoorwill Hollow Road (SR 1001) bridge in Tunkhannock Township will close again the week of May 16 so crews can make some additional improvements in the area around the bridge. Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 16, with traffic detoured to SR 1006, SR 29, US 6 and US 92. The detour will be in place for about three weeks. The bridge replacements are part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a Public-Private Partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP).
