Pedestrian hospitalized after being struck by dump truck

State police investigating the incident

MONROE TOWNSHIP, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an early morning accident that sent a pedestrian to the hospital.

The accident happened around 6:30 am near the intersection of Route 309 and Route 29 in Monroe Township..

State Police say 46 year old Jack C. Husband of Harveys Lake was driving the dump truck north on Route 309 when he struck a member of the Kunkle Fire Department who was directing traffic for a prior crash in the area.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was flown by helicopter from the scene to be treated for serious injuries.
