HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Pennsylvania’s unemployment dipped down to four percent in February according to numbers released Friday by the state’s Department of Labor and INdustry.
That numb er was down from 4.1 percent in January and matches the lowest jobless rate on record. That national rate for the same period dipped two-tenths of a percentage point to 3.8 – lower than the Commonwealth’s rate.
The state’s economy added 8,000 jobs in February with the number of those still looking for work fell by 5,000.
The fastest growing sectors continue to be service, leisure and hospitality jobs, which all rose to record high levels.
