Pets were on parade Sunday to bring awareness of how much they can affect our lives.

The inaugural event was hosted by Allied Services at Lackawanna State Park in North Abington Township.

It was to bring awareness of pet therapy, behavior and pet training, as well as agility drills.
Organizers say the impact a therapy pet can have on humans, especially those in nursing homes struggling with mental and developmental disabilities, is amazing.

“Introducing a pet in combination with their therapy, it decreases their stress and anxiety level and it creates a more productive and positive experience for so many people who use Allied Service,” says Vice President of Communications and Corporate Advancement at Allied Services, Jim Brogna.

Allied Services is hoping to hold this event again next year.
