SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY(WBRE/WYOU-TV) – One person is dead following a shooting in Scranton.
It happened around five o’clock this morning near The Castle Night Club on North Main Avenue.
“Some things happen here time to time not all the time in Scranton but never this part of town,” said Tim Aiello of Scranton.
According to Scranton Police, 21-year old Parker Palermo died shortly before noon at Geisinger Community Medical Center following the shooting.
One person is in critial condition and the third is in stable condition.
Those in the area tell Eyewitness News they’re shocked to hear the news.
“It’s horrible you know. I was sleeping at that point but someone where I live, I live in a personal care home on this street here and somebody said something,” said Aiello.
Police say a security guard for the Castle Club shot three males early this morning before they entered the club.
Two of the males shot were wanted on felony charges out of Wilkes-Barre.
“I come down here sometimes even at night..maybe I better not anymore,” said Aiello.
“I don’t see no reason for any respectable establishment to be open to five in the morning. This isn’t New York City we don’t want it to turn into New York City,” said Mikey B of Scranton.
Police are conducting interviews and reviewing security footage.
Officials with the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s office will determine whether the shooting was justified.
Police have not yet released the names of the victims or the shooters.
