Nick Toma helps with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)- It's that time of year to ring the bell and fill the kettle.

The Salvation Army getting its Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign in full swing Wednesday.

Eyewitness News Anchor Nick Toma had the privilege of helping out in front of the Shiel's Supermarket on Hanover Street in Wilkes-Barre. Lots of folks came through on their way to buy Thanksgiving dinner.

All of the money helps fund local food pantries and disaster relief, among other services. Officials say they hope to raise at least $100,000 throughout the bell-ringing season, which goes through Christmas Eve.
