Moon Lake Park In Luzerne County To Become A State Park

Some say its about time– Moon Lake Park in Plymouth Township will become part of the State Park System– State lawmakers passed legislation to enable the State Department Of Conservation and Natural Resources –DCNR to take control of the 600 acre park– State Senator John Yudichak, (D) 14th District, said, “The park has fallen into disrepair over the past few decades and Luzerne County taxpayers simply do not have the money to bring it back to where it should be–The DCNR will invest a million dollars to make it the kind of place that people want to come to for recreation-” The DCNR will also assume control of the Seven Tubs Area in Plains and Bear Creek Townships– Steve McCafferty from Nanticoke walks his dog at Moon Lake and said, “I hope they can bring this park up to a better place it is beautiful–” Wayne Roberts from Plymouth added, “I love to fish here I think it is a great idea–“
