Monroe County Man Sentenced After Brutal Attack

News

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – A Monroe County man was sentenced Thursday for a violent assault last April, that resulted in Attempted Homicide charges.

Leo Gardner, 48, of Stroudsburg will spend 12 1/2 to 25 years behind bars.

Investigators say Gardner was high on meth when he bit off the tip of a woman’s nose, forced his thumbs through her eyes, and repeatedly threatening to kill her.

It happened inside a vehicle near Alpha Drive in Jackson Township. The judge believes this would be a murder case if two neighbors didn’t stop the attack and hold Gardner down until authorities arrived.
