(WBRE/WYOU) – Children’s Miracle Network Celebration is just two days away. We’re introducing you to this year’s miracle kids. Royce Frazier is a typical 15 year old living in Tannersville. He loves to play baseball and basketball but life threw him a curve ball a few years ago when he started having severe stomach pains. His parents took him to Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital to get some answers. After running some tests on Royce, he was diagnosed with Chrohn’s Disease which also started to effect Royce’s height and weight so he wasn’t growing like he should be. Dr. Martin Maksimak, a Gastroenterologist at Geisinger, said “Crohn’s disease is a type of inflammation there are two types of inflammatory diseases ones called Crohn’s the other is Ulcerative colitis which only effects the colon and no other part and Crohn’s can effect anywhere from your mouth to your bottom.” To hear more of Royce’s story and how he recovered, along with stories of the other 2016 Miracle Kids–join us for the annual Children’s Miracle Network Celebration live on WYOU this Saturday and Sunday. We hope you’ll join us in making miracles happen.
