Man Sentenced for Attempted Armed Robbery at College Party

News

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – A man convicted of attempted armed robbery will spend several years in prison.

Jamari Dortch, 21, was sentenced to 2 1/2 to 5 years.

Last year, police say Dortch and two others showed up with a gun to an off-campus East Stroudsburg University party and demanded money. A student quietly called 911 and police caught them in the act.

While out on bail, Dortch was one of six suspects arrested in February after a stabbing at ESU. That case is still making its way through the court system.
