NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) A September Eleventh remembrance ceremony and brick dedication was held along Luzerne County Community College’s ‘Walk of Honor’ on Tuesday.
The ceremony featured school officials – students and representatives from the Nanticoke City Fire Department who served as the honor guard.
“There is a time for compassion; there is a time to demonstrate resilience, and really to inspire others. To remember that, as one speaker mentioned today, we have been through some very difficult times in America, in American history, but America always rebounds. And it’s really the spirit of its people” said Dr. Thomas Leary, LCCC President.
The Walk of Honor is a memorial area on campus near the EMS training facility.
Its creation was inspired by a woman in Nanticoke who lost her son on Septemeber 11th.
