NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Bullying is something we often hear about, but a business owner in Luzerne County is trying to do something about it.
Hundreds of children have fun at 4 U 2 Rent Events Center in Nanticoke every weekend, but there’s always a few who don’t.
Operations Manager Kirk Janowitz told Eyewitness News about a little girl with special needs who expected to celebrate her birthday with about a dozen of her peers, but no one showed up.
Some of the stories are even sadder, like a 10-year-old boy who felt helpless from constant bullying and took pills to try to end his life.
That’s why Janowitz started a program, inviting any kid who has trouble making friends to enjoy the moon bounces free of charge.
“It’s allowing the kids to see that they are worth something, they do fit in, and there’s lots of kids out there in the same situation,” said parent Jesus Torna.
This program is taking place every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at 4 U 2 Rent Events Center, 400 Middle Road, Nanticoke. Call (570) 262-8397 for more information.
