News

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Tuesday night Luzerne County Council approved a 3.25 percent increase in property taxes with a 7 to 4 vote.

It means a person who owns a house assessed at $100,000 will pay $19 more a year.

The County Manager had proposed a 5 percent tax increase but Council was able to cut some expenses by cutting some employee raises and rejecting several new hires.
