Now a new memorial at Arlington National Cemetery – stands – to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by the pilots.
A tribute to honor, courage, and self-sacrifice.

“He camped out in my office in Washington. We did what we could to help we simply assisted him along the way,”  said Congressman Matt Cartwright (D) PA

Congressman Matt Cartwright helped Mullen secure cosponsors and put pressure on the Army and Arlington National Cemetery to give the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association space for a memorial…
“After a four-year journey where many times it looked like it was not going to happen, ” Mullen says the dedication represented – mission complete…
Some called it the forgotten war… but the showing of support at the dedication Wednesday proved – they may be gone but not forgotten…
” It’s just a small part of what we can to do memorialize the enormous debt of gratitude that we owe, ” said Congressman Cartwright,
“It’s kind of finally a place where they can come as a family and see how America did not forget their loved one,” noted Mullen

The monument states – the helicopter pilots and crew members gave their full measure of devotion to their nation in the Vietnam war. Nearly 5-thousand pilots and crew members lost their lives during the war.
