(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Some young students got a lesson from the pros about safety, Tuesday morning. A police officer and firefighter stopped by the Heights Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre. They spoke to the head start and building blocks pre-k classrooms about staying safe in different situations. It’s all part of leadership Wilkes-Barre’s “Little Leadership” program which is helping prepare the young children for the future.
“I think it starts young because they take that with them. They’re going into kindergarten next year, so it allows them to go in with that preset and the safety items” Said Joanne Stitzer, Wilkes-Barre Little Leaders
The children also received a bag full of fun, healthy and educational items from Leadership Wilkes-Barre group.
