Latest Election Poll Numbers

News

Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County – According to recent polls Democratic Presidential Nominee Hillary Clinton is leading Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump.

The latest CBS poll shows Clinton with a 7 point lead over Trump after the Democratic Convention last week.  Meanwhile, in an NBC News – Survey Monkey poll Clinton leads Trump nationally by 8 points.  That’s up from a single-point last week.  The new poll numbers follow a series of controversial statements from Trump regarding the family of a fallen American soldier and his fears the upcoming general election is going to be rigged.

Voters we caught up with in Wilkes-Barre Township say they feel stuck between two unfit candidates.  Hannah Soden, of Drums, says “I don’t like either of them honestly. I don’t think either of them are the best things in the world, so I don’t know where to go from here.”  Shawn Glaush, of Tunkhannock, says  “the way this election cycle is going, I’m not impressed by both sides. As a matter of fact, as an American, I’m embarrassed.”

Following the cancelation of their last visit due to the ambush in Dallas, TX, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden will campaign in Scranton Monday, August 15th.  That event starts at 12:45 p.m. at the Riverfront Sports Complex.
