Dennison Township, Luzerne County — Emergency responders worked late Saturday morning behind the Pleasure Dome Gentleman’s Club in Dennison Township after a deadly discovery. They removed the body of 36-year-old Richard Fullam of Wayne, Delaware County. “It’s a sad situation when somebody that came out from what I understand it was his first time out in quite awhile,” said White Haven Police Chief Thomas Szoke.
Chief Szoke said Mr. Fullam was drinking with friends Friday night at the Pleasure Dome on Ice Lake Road. The victim’s friends say he stepped out around 1 a.m. and that’s the last they saw him alive. “He probably went over the woods, stopped by the creek and fell in.”
Mr. Fullam’s friends told police they spent the night looking for him but had no luck. It wasn’t until Saturday morning around 10 o’clock when they made the deadly discovery in about two feet of water. The area where Mr. Fullam appeared to have fallen is pretty steep. “He may have been standing on a rock, fell over and hit his head as he went into the water,” said Chief Szoke.
The chief says receiving the call about a body in this creek is a first. “Not at this location, no. We’ve had some accidents going down the Lehigh with rafters and that but nothing like this.” He does not suspect foul play in what’s now become a grim holiday weekend. “Something like this happens. It’s a real tragedy.”
Chief Szoke said a toxicology report would be done but he was not sure if an autopsy would be conducted on the victim.
