WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – A series of thefts is forcing a community pool to close up early for the summer.
Wilkes-Barre city officials say that the theft of about 40 dollars earlier this week from the Kistler elementary pool contributed to the decision.
The pool will close Saturday, August 13th for the rest of the summer.
This facility almost didn’t open up this year because there weren’t enough volunteers.
After eyewitness news aired a story about the volunteer shortage, people stepped up to keep the facility around for the community.
