Keeping Up with the K-9! Lending a Helping Hand


LARKSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) A local community receives a grant crucial to maintaining it’s K-9  unit.

  Larksville borough police were awarded the $500 dollar grant from an Illinois based company Wednesday morning.

  The department came in fourth nationally in an annual k-9 contest.

  The money will go to help ‘Una” the departments three year-old German Sheppard.

   Officers say the money is critical.

“Huge support from the community as well as well as our town and surrounding towns and Wyoming Valley West school district to help us receive this grant”  noted Officer Joshua Evans.

He added the money will towards food, grooming and training for this police dog.
