Julian Assange Arrested and Charged

News

LONDON, ENGLAND (WBRE/WYOU) — Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been charged with computer hacking by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Fugitive was arrested this morning on behalf of the U.S. in London, immediately after the Ecuadorian Embassy revoked his asylum.

Assange hadn’t left the Ecuadorian Embassy since August of 2012, fearing he would be arrested and extradited to the United States if he stepped off their diplomatic soil for publishing thousands of classified military and diplomatic cables through Wikileaks.

Wikileaks says Ecuador illegally terminated Assange’s political asylum in violation of International Law.
