John Hasay Sentencing

(WBRE/WYOU-TV) The son of a former District Judge was sentenced to 24 months in prison for illegal possession of a machine gun,

    Federal agents arrested 22-year-old John “Jake: Hasay back in August of 2018 for making anti-Semitic and racist comments he posted on Social Media while displaying guns. 

  In January, he pleaded guilty to a felony charge.

       In court Tuesday, Hasay recognized his comments were wrong and took full responsibility for his actions apologizing to the judge and his family.

“He very repentance and he does have a tremendous amount of family support and community support, which will go a long way, not only in getting him through his incarceration… but helping him when he gets out ” Said Attorney Al Flora, who represented Hasay.

  Hasay was given credit for eight months already served. While serving the remainder of his sentence the judge ordered him to participate in substance abuse and mental health treatment programs.
