You may soon see more sponsored advertisements on Instagram from so-called “influencers”.
The social network announced changes to its Facebook-owned platform, allowing brands to promote influencer content in people’s feeds, even if they don’t follow the account.
The ads will look similar to those already found in Instagram feed and stories, but will be labled “paid partnership”. Instagram has about one billion monthly active users, according to the company.
The move is in response to brands’ desire to better target users and offer a more organic ad experience.
