I-Team: Search for Fugitive Shawn Christy Returns Back Home


RUSH TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Shawn Christy has been on the run for more than two months after threatening President Donald Trump.
  The multi-state manhunt returns to Schuylkill County, not far from his home in McAdoo that is where The I-Team’s Andy Mehlshick picks up the story.

 The U.S. Marshals confirm that Shawn Christy is believed to have returned to his hometown area. Christy is considered armed and dangerous.

Heavily armed Federal agents search a secluded area in the Tidewood East Industrial Park in Rush Township Tracking dogs were also pressed into service. 
It all began when this red pick up truck was allegedly stolen by Christy in Maryland Monday morning was found abandoned in the parking lot of this woodworking business.

 As law enforcement searched for Christy people who work in the Industrial Park watched and waited to see if they could catch a glimpse of the man who had eluded police for two months.

“ It’s crazy he’s in the woods here now all of this came out of the blue, “ said Charles Leinhall of Tamaqua.

“ It’s crazy he’s getting away like that so easily. We can’t go down the road without cops behind us. A criminal is getting away Scott free in different countries states and everything. “ added Chris Wagner of Tamaqua.

 The search for Christy has spread over six states.. and he has allegedly stolen at least five vehicles. 

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of Shawn Christy.
