The strong armed robbery happened as 76-year-old Janice Generose walked out of the Puff and Stuff Smoke Shop near broad street in West Hazleton on Monday afternoon.

Police say 23-year-old Brett Magula is the man who mugged Generose.
She told eyewitness news she saw him pacing in front of the store and he approached her as she came out.

“He said to me do you have the time? I said yes 20 after one. He said do you have a cigarette? I said no and that’s when he plunged up i should have put my wallet in my purse but i didn’t.”

Generose said it  all happened so quickly.

“I had my wallet in my hand. He plunged, I was going like this, he banged on my hand. My chest. He took my wallet he ran like a deer,”

Police Chief Brian Buglio says after the story aired on Eyewitness News they got a tip as to a possible  suspect.
“Shortly after the story hit the air on your newscast what happened was a cooperative agreement with law enforcement and obviously your viewer at WBRE a short time later we actually caught the guy.”
