HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) There are new developments today in the case of State Representative Tarah Toohil’s allegations that a fellow State Representative threatened to kill her.
Eyewitness News reported on Friday that Toohil was granted a Protection from Abuse Order against fellow Republican Nick Miccarelli from Delaware County- Miccarelli is Toohil’s ex- boyfriend.

Rep. Toohil was at the Capitol today casting votes. Rep. Miccarelli was not. The PFA bans him from coming into the Capitol Building— until a hearing is held on the PFA this Thursday at the Luzerne County Courthouse.Toohil spoke exclusivity to Eyewitness News.
State Representative Tarah Toohil says she feared for her life because of alleged threats made by Representative Nick Miccarelli.
“I’m trying to do what’s right by speaking out.“ Rep. Toohil told the I-Team on Monday.
Toohil claims that Miccarelli held a gun to her head in 2012 and threatened a murder-suicide. The two ended a relationship that year and Toohil claims he has been stalking and harassing her ever since.
“.This is something I’ve been dealing with since 2012. I had to take security measures for myself. It took me a very long time to identify that I was a victim of domestic violence. Other victims came forward I decided I have to speak out. “
Law enforcement is investigating claims made by two other women who say Miccarelli physically assaulted them as well.
I asked her why she did not come forward with these allegations until now!
“ When it was just about me, but Then I realized there were other victims, multiple victims, I felt I had to speak out. “
At the time of the break-up photos of Toohil and Miccarelli were leaked to media.- One photo showed a younger Toohil with another woman at a table with a bong. She appears to be leaning toward the woman to kiss her. Another photo shows Toohil and Miccarelli riding a camel on a legislative trip to Israel. A spokesman for Miccarelli issued a statement today that reads in part… Toohil claims Miccarelli leaked them to embarrass her.
“ In the midst of this well-orchestrated smear campaign against Representative Nick Miccarelli he cannot and will not be at the Capitol on Monday. .. he will not willingly submit to the Jerry Springer environment his accusers want to create in Harrisburg. “
Toohil said she is not going to address what the other side is saying.
The Dauphin County District Attorney’s office is investigating these allegations. republican leaders and the governor have urged Miccarelli to resign.
