Hop Bottom police officer charged

HOP BOTTOM, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Hop Bottom is without a police officer as of Tuesday. 

The only cop on the payroll has been charged with failing to report child abuse. This come after 29-year-old police officer Joshua Diddick of Nicholson failed to report suspected child abuse. Court paperwork shows Diddick’s friend is accused of having sexual relations with a minor and that Diddock knew about it. 

He was arrested and arraigned Tuesday on allegations he failed to report child abuse that happened from April to June of this year. 

He’s also facing other charges including stalking, corruption of minors and furnishing minors.

As for Diddick’s friend he has not yet been charged in connection with the suspect child abuse. 

Diddick’s preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 11 at 2pm.
