Homes and Businesses Evacuated After Gas Line Hit in Pottsville

(WBRE/WYOU-TV)  A developing story in Schuylkill County. Part of downtown Pottsville is being evacuated after crews hit a gas line.

    This is happening in the area of West Market Street, and our reporter, Rachael Espaillat on the scene says a contractor working with a backhoe struck a gas line and ruptured it.

    Several businesses in the area, as well as homes within 400 feet of the rupture, have been evacuated.    West Market Street is closed from Gordon Nagle Trail. to 22nd Street
