MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Retiring can be a confusing endeavor for people looking for the right health care but there is an organization in the Poconos that can help. Apprise was created in 1991 to help seniors who turn 65 understand Medicare and health insurance options. Volunteers meet with seniors to help them find the best — and often most cost-effective plan for their needs. The new Apprise coordinator in Monroe County, Laura Pride, wants to remind seniors help is available.
“Seniors get a lot of mail regarding health care, including Medicare and many other insurance programs that are seeking them to purchase. We can navigate that with them and help them take control of their own healthcare needs. For more information on the Apprise program contact your local area on the agency office or call 1-800-783-7067
