Hazleton Man Sentenced to Prison on Animal Cruelty Charges

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)  A  Hazleton man is sentenced to jail time on animal cruelty charges in the death of two dogs.
    Cody Anderson was sentence to 11 to 23 months on animal cruelty charges on Friday

 He is currently at Luzerne County Prison.


     According to Animal Welfare officers with the Luzerne County SPCA Anderson killed two pit bull dogs in 2015.
     Luzerne County SPCA officials say Anderson committed the act after his friend said she was allegedly bitten by one of the dogs.
     The woman purchased the dogs on Craiglist according to the SPCA
    Anderson was sentenced today .
     In addition to the 11 to 23 months jail time, he will also have to pay court costs and have community service at the SPCA.
