Group formed to fight stormwater fee

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Have you ever received a bill a stormwater fee yet?

If you live in the Wyoming Valley it’s probably sealed, stamped and in the mail. Eyewitness News most recently told you about this on Monday and since then a “for the residents by the residents” kind of group has formed.

Thursday evening, they held an informational meeting on what to do as property owners. They want the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority to look at their fee structure and how much residents pay.

“We’re getting the run around, so we decided to get together and see what we can do as a group to eliminate this fee ourselves,” said Marian Deangelis, group organizer.

“I was given my bill which puts me in the tier three and it shows the entire neighbors driveway on my property,” said Dusty Titus, property owner.

The Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority is in charge of 32 municipalities.
