Graduation Day Bittersweet for Coughlin Seniors

News

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) It was a bittersweet graduation for hundreds of Coughlin High School Seniors on Friday.

The school held the ceremony  at the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre.

While seniors said goodbye to their old school, it’s unclear from where next year’s class will graduate the district is trying to decide the future of the high school.

Students we spoke with say they plan to hold onto the memories they made.

“It’s sad because I wanted my sister, my younger one to go to this school because my two older ones did.. My mother did too so it’s a building that has a lot of memories. ” said Senior Zach King

Coughlin Seniors and Juniors attended classes at the Coughlin Annex this year while freshmen and sophomores attended classes at the Mackin Building in Wilkes-Barre.
