Going for the Gold: Olympic Honeymoon

(WBRE/WYOU) This summer will be busy for an athlete aiming at Rio, but for Stacy Lewis, one of the best golfers in the world, it’s more like hectic, because she’s got all the golf she can handle on the LPGA tour, she’s got corporate events, and then there’s the most important day of her life.”

A professional golfer’s office can be lonely.
Just you and a caddie walking from tee to green.

But sometimes the job you love can lead to the love of your life.

Stacy Lewis was introduced to Garrod Chadwell by her college coach at the University of Arkansas.

“He had to come pick me up at my parents house, which he said he hadn’t done in 15 years.”

A traditional date leading to a proposal and a walk down the aisle on August 6th.

“No chance, no chance.  A, I don’t get to see her in a dress too often, much less a white one with her hair done. No chance i keep it together with anything involved with the wedding.” Said Gerrod Chadwell, Stacy’s Finance

“He’s a wuss, he cries all the time, I  just told him to make sure he doesn’t pass out when he walks down the aisle.” said Stacy

Those wedding bells are just days before the women’s golf event tees off in Brazil.

“I will be her husband at the Olympics.”  added Gerrod

“It will be really special to have him there and extend our honeymoon a little bit longer.” noted Stacy

A busy calendar and a full heart.

Maybe a golden ending to a white wedding .

While Women’s Golf won’t make their rosters official until mid-July, Stacy Leiws is surely in the driver’s seat for a spot for the U.S. Team.  las colinas, texas, i’m aaron nolan with this going for the gold report.”
