Going Above And Beyond The Call Of Duty

News
Shamokin, Northumberland County — First responders across Northumberland County are coming together to support a mother who lost three of her children in a fire earlier this month.

Wednesday night firefighters went door-to-door collecting donations for Christine Dissinger and her family.

Dissinger lost three of her young sons, 13-year-old Daniel, 7-year-old Gavin, and 2-year-old Arthur.

The tragedy has affected the entire Northumberland County community, especially the first responders who answered the call.

Commissioner Vinny Clausi organized the fundraiser, asking firefighters from Shamokin and Coal Township to collect donations.

Clausi has offered to match up to $10,000 in donations.

You can also bring checks to any MC Federal Credit Union on behalf of the Dissinger family.
