Shawnee on Delaware, Monroe County – Celine Camacho likes the idea of camping but she doesn’t like the idea of preparing a campsite. She said, “The whole pitching of the tent, the whole hard labor aspect, I’m not a fan of.”
That’s why she loved the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s new glamorous camping area. “Glamping” is becoming a big trend in America. Camacho said, “I think the idea is awesome. I mean, you have your own bed. It’s basically a home away from home.”
After you check in at the Shawnee Inn, you take a canoe down the Delaware River to your tent. “By the time you canoed down to the glamping site, your luggage would be in your tent ready for you. The campfire would be roasting and you’d just come and enjoy the scenery,” said spokesperson Jeromy Wo.
When you step into the tent, you’ll see it looks like a hotel room. Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort General Manager Rob Howell noted, “[It has] a real bed, you know, duvets, real pillows, of course a lamp with electricity.”
There’s even WiFi.”So if you feel the need to watch your favorite Netflix, you can do that right here,” said Howell.
There’s also a nearby restroom and shower area.
When you step out of your tent in the morning, you walk right into the great outdoors and you’ll see a concierge preparing a big breakfast for you over the campfire.
“You don’t have to do anything except enjoy yourself,” smiled Wo
Some glamor and some camping make for a unique vacation experience in the Poconos.
