WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A little girl from Luzerne County is proof that you can never be too young to make a difference in the lives of others.
In an Eyewitness News follow-up, we first told you last month about Brooke Allen.
The third grader from West Pittston wrote a letter to her principal at Wyoming Area Catholic School, asking if she could start a collection for the people impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
The community came through, donating dozens of boxes stuffed with supplies and more than $1,000.
The nine-year-old received a special honor Tuesday night from her hometown. Mayor Tom Blaskiewicz gave her a certificate and medal for her act of kindness.
