The city of Wilkes-Barre will have a new mayor next year.
    Democrat Tony George will face off against Republican Frank Sorick next month in the general election.

  Both men say fighting crime will be their top priority.

Frank Sorick- The Republican Candidate for Mayor of Wilkes-Barre, told the I-Team’s Andy Mehalshick
“We need to increase staffing levels its more than that it’s about proper training and giving the police the proper tools and instituting a system like Comstat that not only advises where hot spots are but what needs to be done.”

The Democratic Candidate Tony George- responded
“I have the experience and qualifications to run the city. I’ve been an employee of the city for over thirty years including city council. I was police officer and worked my way up to police chief.”
Both candidates say they plan to hit the streets going door to door right up to election day November 3rd.
