*Stroudsburg Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, Sunday, March 18 – steps off at 1:30 pm It continues through downtown Stroudsburg, and eventually wraps up in East Stroudsburg.  

*Schuylkill County is getting ready to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day and the Luck of the Irish.

The 15th Annual Girardville Irish Day Parade will be held promptly at 12 noon on Saturday, March 24.

The giant parade features 5 divisions and 16 bands with numerous floats, antique vehicles, and special entries.

The theme of this year’s parade is the “Salute to the Residents of Girardville.”

The Grand Marshal for the 2018 Parade is former Congressman Timothy Holden.

Parade Day activities begin at 10 AM with an Irish Mass at Saint Vincent’s Worship Center at 2nd and C Streets in Girardville.

An outdoor celebration will follow the parade at the Hibernian House at Beech and Line Streets in the borough.

CASA of Luzerne County is hosting NEPA Sings! competition, sponsored in part by PNC Bank and Geisinger Health Systems

Twelve performers will be selected to compete in the finals on Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the KCCA. The final competition will be emceed by Dave Kuharchik, host of PA Live! A panel of local celebrity judges will be announced shortly. 

The first place prize includes two tickets to a Broadway show in New York city with round trip transportation provided by Martz Trailways, as well as an opportunity to perform the winning song on PA Live! on WBRE-TV. The second place prize includes two tickets to a show at the F.M. Kirby Center and a $100 gift certificate good for dinner at a local restaurant.
