Are you willing to open your heart and your home to a pet?   This Saturday, Join Eyewitness News Morning Anchors Chris Langlois and Kelly Byrne for “Finding a Forever Home”! 

The program will feature many of our regions SPCA’s and Animal Rescue groups.   We will take a look at the need for forever families for our four-legged friends.   We will feature the SPCA of Luzerne County, Dessin Animal Shelter, Hillside SPCA,  Blue Chip Farm Animal Rescue, Awsom Animal Shelter and Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue.     We will also tip our hats to the many volunteers who devote their time and love to animals looking for a new home.

Finding a Forever Home will air on Saturday,  August 17 at 9 am and then at 7 pm.    Our Kristina Shalhoup, Logan Westrope and Rachael Espaillat will be at the SPCA of Luzerne County from

Candy’s Place, a cancer wellness and resource center, will be the topic of conversation on this Sunday’s Newsmakers.  Newsmakers is hosted by Jayne Ann Bugda.   Bugda will have as her guests Lisa Lisa Orlandini, Director of Candy’s Place , Robin Donahue -Candy’s Place client,

Joe Donahue (Robin’s Husband /caregiver and Dave Jenkins/ Candy’s Place Certified reflexologist.   The panel will discuss the many programs and services offered at Candy’s Place for women, men and their caregivers.  They will also talk about some new and exciting programs at Candy’s Place.   Newsmakers will air   Sunday, August 18 at 11:30 am on WBRE.

 This Week In Pennsylvania  Join Dennis Owens for Sunday’s ‘This Week in Pennsylvania”.    Two state lawmakers  want to make it easier for ex-offenders to find jobs.   On Sunday’s This Week In Pennsylvania.. Representatives Sheryl Delozier and Jordan Harris talk about their bi-partisan push to allow people with criminal records to obtain professional licenses which are required for barbers, cosmetologists, nurses, and architects…Currently- many licensing boards are allowed to deny or revoke licenses based on someone’s criminal history
