Former Astronaut John Glenn Passes Away at Age 95


(WBRE/WYOU) Former Astronaut John Glenn has passed away.

 The 95 year old Glenn was hospitalized at the James Cancer Center in Ohio.

 Glenn had a heart valve replacement in 2014.

Before serving four terms as a U.S. Senator from Ohio, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth in 1962.

Then in 1998, at age 77, he became the oldest person to go to space when he completed a mission on the space shuttle discovery.
