Fire in Wilkes-Barre Assisted Living Facility Displaces Dozens

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Dozens of people were forced from their homes tonight in Wilkes-Barre following a fire at an assisted living facility.

The fire broke out after 9:30 PM at North Penn Manor on North Sherman Street. 

The fire started in the laundry area. The fire is currently being investigated to see the cause and extent of the damage.

There were no serious injuries reported.

All of the residents were evacuated to the nearby Red Cross building also on North Sherman Street.
