Fire Company Celebrates 65 Years

News

CLARKS SUMMIT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) A special breakfast in Lackawanna County marked a milestone for the community.

People lined up and filled their plates with all- you- can- eat breakfast foods.

The Clarks Summit Fire Company Number One is observing 65 years of serving the region today. The anniversary just happened to fall on the same day as the monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast.

The President of the Auxiliary Club says the fire company has been around for more than 65 years.

“The company, I believe is 102 years old, but the Auxiliary is celebrating its 65th anniversary exactly, today,” President of the Joseph W. Hall Auxiliary Karyn Bevard said.

Special presentations were made to the Auxiliary by the Clarks Summit Mayor- Patty Lawler and State Representative Sid Michaels Kavulich.
