Financial Advisor Sentenced- Clients Describe “Financial Nightmare”

A judge sentenced Joseph Hyduk of Hazle Township to five years and three months in prison and be must pay the money back

 Hyduk was a financial advisor.  He admits he stole their money all totaled more than a million dollars from about 20 clients. They came to federal  court in Wilkes-Barre seeking justice.

Hyduk told the I-Team’s Andy Mehalshick he is sorry and will to “his dying day” repay whatever he owes.

 

But those words mean nothing  for people like 76 year old Carmen Fierro from Hazleton..he says Fierro stole $310,000 dollars from him money  he thought Hyduk was investing for him.


Fierro says Hyduk ruined his life

Bob Gruner from Shavertown says he trusted Hyduk to invest his money for retirement.  He lost well over $100,000

 

While Hyduk says he doesn’t know why he stole the money..

Proseutors say it was all about greed..

.They say Hydyuk used the money to pay the  mortgage on his  $700,000 home, took his family to Jamaica..bought his child as new car with cash and sent $10,000 on a party..
