AVOCA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) A commercial plane with more than 30 passengers on board reportedly an engine failed in-flight.
The pilot landed safely at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport. All the passengers are now inside the terminal building
It was a Porter Airline Turbo Prop. Porter Air is based in Toronto.
The plane was traveling from Newark to Toronto when it encountered the problem.
Despite the chaos, those on-board calmly exited the aircraft.
“They seemed to be fine. They were happy that they weren’t any issues. They landed safely. And the airline and the airport are taking good care of them” Said Carl Beardsley, Jr., Airport Executive Director.
The passengers are currently waiting for another aircraft to arrive in Avoca to take them to their destination.
