Digging resumes for remains of Barbara Miller

News

MILTON, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Authorities resumed digging in and around a home in Milton, Northumberland County looking for the possible remains of Barbara Miller.

The then-30 year old Miller disappeared in 1989, and authorities are now focusing on a home on North Front Street in Milton following new leads in the cold case.

Wednesday forensic investigators ripped through a concrete wall in the basement and Thursday they began digging up portions of the yard surrounding the home.

Sunbury Police Chief Tim Miller, leading the investigation, said Thursday morning “We have additional resources enroute here today, we’re doing everything we can to exhaust this lead trying to recover the remains we believe are there.”

Miller then issued a challenge to the person responsible for Miller’s disappearance.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that the person who did this is watching these newscasts and following this on Facebook and I would ask, before I tear this man’s house down, give me a call. I’ll give you my cell phone number. It’s (570) 452-2809. We’re not going anywhere. We’re going to continue the search, we’re going to do anything in our power to bring this to justice.”
